Sir Josiah
Mason's Church, Station Road - early 20th Century/late 19th
Century
(Birmingham Central Library)
He allowed the Methodists to use this. Decades later they built their own where this one stood (see Osborne School in the background?) John Wesley founded the Methodists, hence the adjacent road named after him. The to-city side railway station ramp probably existed at this time since where else was this taken from?

Sir Josiah Mason
A bust of him of course lies on the Orphanage
Road/Chester Road roundabout (placed in 1952). More about him can
be found at the Birmingham Pen
Trade Heritage Association All the work he did in the area
seems largely to have been forgotten by locals (his knighthood
has been dropped from the College on Slade Road which bears his
name).
